It is known that densely populated coastal areas may be adversely affected as a result of the climate change effects. In this respect, for protection, utilization, and management it critical to understand changes in wind speed (WS) significant wave height (SWH) areas. Innovative approaches, which are one trend analysis methods used an effective way examine these changes, have started very frequently many fields recent years, although not marine engineering. The Polygon Trend Analysis (IPTA) method provides observe one-year behavior time series by representing between consecutive months well determining trends each individual month. also constraints such data length, distribution type or serial correlation. Therefore, main objective study investigate whether using innovative compared traditional makes difference climatological variables.
